This research aims to understand the psychic and physical changes of different periods of life such as adolescence, young adulthood, middle age and old age through the scope of growth, maturation and aging processes. In this context, groups passing through different age periods, are discussed on the axis of oedipal, narcissistic and depressive problematics. The differences and similarities between these groups in different age periods are compared through projective tests such as Rorschach and Thematic Apperception Test. This study was conducted with four different groups who agreed to participate in the study. These four different groups, consisting of 32 people, include the adolescent group between the ages of 13-18, the young adult group between the ages of 18-25, the middle age group between the ages of 55-64, and finally the old age group from the age of 75 and over. The data obtained from the research were examined in quantitative and qualitative terms. Projective test protocols were evaluated using the psychoanalytic interpretation method specific to the French School. In the hypotheses of the research, an increase in narcissistic investments and a revival of oedipal conflict were expected in groups in adolescence and old age. In addition, it was predicted that in groups in adolescence and middle age, the mobility in drive investment would increase and it would become more difficult to cope with the depressive position. This study seeks to enrich the literature by examining the basic psychic problematics experienced during adolescence, young adulthood, middle age and old age.
