  • ADDICTIONS, ALCOHOL AND FEMINITY IMPASSES; A CLINICAL AND PROJECTIVE CASE STUDY

    Summary :

Based on a unique case study, the authors propose to question femininity in alcohol dependence. Thus, using the Rorschach and TAT protocols of a female alcohol-dependent participant in a research project, the aim is not so much to study alcoholism in women as to question the avatars and impasses of the femininity in the light of addiction, of which alcohol is only one aspect. In this clinical situation, it appears that both the erotic and maternal valence of this position remain inaccessible, between melancholization of the maternal and the femininity literally taken hostage. Neverthe-less, the problematic of emptiness and fullness, characteristic of the tension in the heart and body of the alcoholic subject, could be understood as a rudimentary attempt to approach this psychic position.
