Depression is a state of hopelesness. The efforts of defining and classifying depression go back to old ages. Child depression is denied by the psychiatrists for a longtime and it?s accepted in 1970?s. Child depression is different than adult depression. In adult depression there can be some verbalization of depressif affect but in child?s depression there is no verbalization. The differences between child depression and adult depression is that the speech of the adults is in low tone and very slow, the adults usually cries and they don?t have any expectations from the future.Their physical appearence changes and their appetite increase or in some cases it can also diminish. Those features aren?t seeen in child depression. In the development line there are baby depressions, child depressions and adolescent depressions. In baby depression psychical apathie, avoidance of relationship , psychomotor inhibition and psychosomatic problems can be seen. In child depression we can see inhibition, hyperactivity or agression. In some cases the children spends all his time to do his homeworks and usually is unsuccessful in school because of his difficulties in undestanding or memorizing the lessons. The difficulties he has in thinking leads him to be inattentive and to be careless about the school. In adolescence the situation changes and adolescent can have feelings of emptiness but the adolescent doesn?t express his feelings because expressing them is a sign of deprendency to whom he is against. The adolescent can have the feelings of emptiness, the feelings of boredom. In order to cope with those feelings adolescent can realize som acting outs as suicide attempts.
