    Summary :

    Adoption is not a life-event. Ir is a lifelong process with deep impact on each of the parties involved. The basic point of this article was how and when the information of adoprion process should be shared with the adoptee. Withholding information, as in closed adoption, creates an area of secrecy, which causes distortions in the relationship between the adoptee and adoptive parents. The pathogenic impact of the unshared adoption process was elaborated in clinical cases. The biological and psychosocial factors that made couples decide to adopt a child and the consequences of it were evaluated through the family dynamics. Overall, effects of adoption process on the adoptee and adoptive paretns are discussed under the light of recent literature.
