This article takes a closer look at two women diagnosed with Hashimoto?s, an autoimmune disorder, from a psychological perspective and in lieu with their past traumatic experiences, in the scope of results collected from projective tests as well as clinical interviews. Findings demonstrated that, in addition to potential traumas regarding femininity and the mother-daughter bond, these women presented a depressive affect, combined with a gravitation towards sensory images, narcissistic fragility and inadequacies in their representation capacity.
