This paper tries to focus on psychic functioning of women who are in the postmenopausal process using projective methods. The effects of menopause on their daily life, their definition of menstruation and menopause and the unconscious processes are interpreted from a psychoanalytical point of view. 15 volunteers of 45-55 age were included in this study who were in the postmenopausal process. After a psychoanalytically oriented interview Rorschach and Thematic Apperception Tests were applied. The results of the projective tests were evaluated by content analysis specific to the French School. Due to the loss in the reproductive function the difficulty in giving a representation of a sexualized body, depressive symptoms, and anxiety of being attacked of the body are evaluated.
